Factal unveils several new innovations in risk intelligence at GSX 2024

A lot has changed since we attended GSX last year. A new conflict and advances in AI have led to a more complex threat environment, and the quality of real-time information is deteriorating. Social media is noisier and more misleading than ever, leaving security teams struggling to keep pace.

The only risk intelligence platform built with verification at the core, Factal empowers teams to make faster, more confident decisions. We call it “decision-ready intelligence,” and we’re excited to announce several new features. If you’re headed to GSX 2024 in Orlando this year, stop by booth 2355 and we’ll give you a live demo. Here’s a quick preview:

Personal edition of the Factal mobile app: Everyone loves Factal’s enterprise app, the fastest breaking news app on the market and a staple on security leaders’ phones. Our members asked us if we could make a lightweight version for their employees, so we jumped at the chance – but with a twist. The new personal edition is designed for employees and their families, both on the clock and off. Not only can they get notified of verified breaking news that’s happening nearby, but they can add custom places, like their kid’s school, parent’s house and vacation destinations. It’s a modern, holistic approach to employee safety, and we’re excited that several Factal members are rolling it out to their workforce.

Travel risk monitoring: Factal members can already add unlimited assets – like offices, stores and distribution centers – to get alerted whenever a nearby incident poses a risk. Now, we’re working on a new type of asset: travelers. Coming soon to Factal, our members will see when travel itineraries intersect with global incidents in a fully unified risk intelligence experience. Our travel management solution will be available later this year.

Mentions for targeted threats: Factal is known for our verified coverage of global events, and our new social media Mentions product offers a substantial boost in capabilities to protect your team from targeted threats, hyperlocal incidents and brand backlash. Powered by the latest in generative AI and purpose-built for security teams, Mentions instantly surfaces whenever your brands, leadership, products or places are mentioned in context of a security incident, threat or crisis. Mentions is easy to configure and customize out of the box while keeping noise at minimum. Best of all, it’s already integrated into the same platform our members know and trust.

AI summaries: It seems like everyone has AI summarization features these days, but as you might expect from the team at Factal, we’ve taken a thoughtful approach. You can now quickly summarize new and ongoing events in real time. The AI draws from our real-time verified updates – not unverified chatter – as well as editor-written background information. We also provide original sourcing and several safeguards to minimize hallucination and contextual errors. The result is fact-based summaries for clearer, more confident decisions.

Those are just a few innovations we’ll be showing at GSX. Over the last year, our product team has worked with members to expedite their response times, improve collaboration and expand their responsibilities. Developments like our Flash Briefings, incident chat and topic insights have helped teams take a more proactive approach. Stop by the booth to see our latest features in action.

And since you’ll be at GSX, we’re co-hosting Security’s Happiest Hour with our partners Emergent Risk International and EVERYWHERE Communications on GSX night two. It’s just a short walk from the convention center, and it’s the perfect place to unwind over drinks. Hope to see you there!
